Ned Darrow

Ned E Darrow, 87, of Diamond, Missouri earned his wings Friday, January 19, 2024, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary Darrow, sister Marion, and former late wife Leah.

He is survived by his beloved wife Fern Darrow, brother Floyd (Sandy), his three sons, Dale (Kathy), Bryan (Doris), and Allen, stepchildren Linda Snyder (Jeff), Lorene Luna (Robert), Johnie Goss (Debra), and Dayl King (Tony), twelve grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.








After graduating from Harpursville Central School (Harpursville, New York), Ned joined the US Air Force where he served 10 years, 1955 -1965, as an Air Traffic Controller.

Ned found his niche as a driver with CFI Trucking Company for over 40 years with many awards, including an award for over three million miles of safe driving.








Ned could talk to anyone and was quick with a joke or witty comeback. He was an avid Cardinals and Chiefs fan, and a member of the American Legion.

The family will receive friends at Mason-Woodard Chapel, 3701 East 7th Street, Joplin, MO on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 1:00pm-2:00pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will be held at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, 415 N. St. Louis, Joplin, MO with military honors following the service.
