Alice White

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Alice Mae White, 89, of Seneca, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 30, 1935, in Stone County, Missouri, to Andy and Osa (Short) Clifton.

Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. In her early years, she was a stay-at-home mother, caring for her children with unwavering love and dedication. She later worked briefly at Kraft Foods before beginning a long career at Buddy-L in Neosho, which later became Sunbeam Outdoor Products. Starting as a line worker, she eventually served as a receiving clerk and retired after 28 years of service. Following her retirement, Alice spent 15 years lovingly caring for her mother in her home.

A faithful member of Burkhart Church of Christ in Racine, Missouri, Alice lived her faith daily. She loved the Lord deeply, reading her favorite scripture, Psalm 23, each day. Known for her delicious cooking, she was famous for her peach cobbler at church dinners. She enjoyed music and played the guitar, loved to read, and delighted in fishing—though she preferred not to eat the fish or get in the water. Her bright blue eyes, warm smile, and quick wit brought joy to everyone she met.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; Joe Stumpff, the father of her children; her husband, Tom White; her brother, Sonny Clifton; and her son-in-law, Bill Edwards.

She is survived by her three children, Larry Stumpff and wife Gina, Gayle Laughlin and husband Terry, and Charles Stumpff and wife Leora; her sister, Eula Tolbert; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; two nephews, Keith and Kent Tolbert, and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.

Alice’s life was a testament to love, faith, and family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
