Jeanetta Brown

Jeanetta Josephine Brown, age 90, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on June 26, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 9, 1935, in Davis City, Iowa, to George Oscar and Inez Josephine (Hogue) Dunbar.

On May 22, 1953, she was united in marriage to Billy Ray Brown in Cassville, Missouri. They shared more than 53 years of marriage before his passing on December 12, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents; her son-in-law, David Griffin; her grandson, Bobby Holland; great-great-granddaughter, Iris Marina; five brothers and three sisters.








Jeanetta is survived by her son, Larry Ray Brown of Exeter, Missouri; her daughters, Teresa Griffin of Bashor, Kansas, Carolyn Holland and her husband, Larry, of Pahrump, Nevada, Linda Rajean Marlowe and her husband, Phillip, of Cassville, Missouri, Sandra Shockley and her husband, Ron, of Exeter, Missouri, Laura Hollingsworth of Exeter, Missouri, and Ruby Ellen Brown of Springfield, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, with another one on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory.

Jeanetta graduated from Cassville High School in Cassville, Missouri, with the Class of 1953. She worked in the motor repair department at Fasco Industries in Cassville until her retirement in 1995. She also owned and operated the Skelly Station in Butterfield, Missouri, and Bates Corner in Cassville, Missouri. 








Jeanetta enjoyed quilting, sewing, and cooking, but most of all she treasured spending time with her family. Jeanetta was baptized at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville.

A memorial graveside service honoring Jeanetta will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri. Jamey Grey will conduct the service.
