Jeanne Leek, age 88, of Carthage, Missouri passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 following a decline in health.
She was born September 27, 1927 in Vilvoorde, Belgium to Guiolme and Isabell (Latin) Hermans.
Jeanne was a homemaker and has lived in the area since the 1950’s. She was a member of the Grand Avenue Church of God. She enjoyed the outdoors and working in the flower garden.
She married Henry Leek on June 15, 1946 and he preceded her in death on November 20, 2011.
Jeanne is survived by two sons, William Leek and wife Ruby, Mark Leek and wife Pam all of Carthage, Missouri; four grandchildren, Michael Leek and wife Connie, Kris Leek and wife Alissa, Joshua Leek and wife Mollie, Matthew Leek, six great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Pol Hermans and wife, Germaine, of Vilvoorde, Belgium; a sister, Marguerite Hermans also of Vilvoorde; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Simmonds officiating. Burial will follow at the Carterville Cemetery.
