Jack Rubottom, age 84 of Diamond, Missouri, died July 27, 2016 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Jack was born Sept. 6, 1931 in Ritchey, Missouri, the son of D. E. and Anna (Cromer) Rubottom. He was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Sarcoxie High School in 1949. In January, 1951, he entered the U.S. Marine Corp and served his country during the Korean Conflict, serving in Korea, 1951-1952 in the First Marine Division and was honorably discharged as Sergeant in January, 1954. He had worked for B and G Construction and attended Barber School in Kansas City, Missouri and worked as a barber in Carthage for two years and in Diamond from December 1958 - 1977. He then worked at FAG Bearing from 1977 until retiring in 1994.
Jack was a member of the Granby Masonic Lodge, No. 514 since 1967; he was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, since May of 1978 and a member of the American Legion since 1955. He was raised in the Methodist Church of Sarcoxie and has been a member of the Diamond Methodist Church since 1959.
Funeral services were held Monday at Diamond Methodist Church.
