Nadine Mae Medlin, age 86, of rural Lamar, peacefully passed away Saturday morning, July 30, 2016, at Freeman West Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Nadine was born August 20, 1929, in Barton County, east of Lamar, Missouri, to Floyd and Edna (Mead) Morey. After graduating from Lamar High School, she married her high school sweetheart, True Jarrett Medlin and together they farmed and raised their family of five sons, Gary, Roy, Larry, Donald, and Jesse. Always displaying a strong work ethic and Christian values, Nadine’s life revolved around family, with her favorite role being that of devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active and faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.
After sharing 62 years of marriage and partnership, True preceded Nadine in death January 7, 2010. She was also preceded by their son, Gary; her parents; and two brothers Orvel Morey and Roy Morey.
Survivors include four sons and their wives, Roy & Sharon Medlin, Larry & Lori Medlin, Donald & Susan Medlin, Jesse & Pam Medlin, all of Lamar; eight grandsons, Kevin Medlin, Frontenac, Kansas, Roy Medlin, Jr., Lamar, Jeremy (Bernadette) Medlin, Kansas City, Missouri, Shane (Lori) Medlin, Springfield, Shawn (Julie) Medlin, St. Peters, Jarrett (Jacqueline Janus) Medlin, St. Louis, Braydon Medlin, Overland Park, Kansas, Bradly Keithly, Mindenmines; six granddaughters, Brenda (Rick) Sewell, Oceola, Jackie Medlin, Liberal, Chasity (Mike) Sewell, Harrisonville, Lori (Andy) Roskamp, Lamar, Brooka (Donny) McCubbin, Pea Ridge, Arkansas, and Kaylee Medlin, Lamar; 33 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Morey, Lamar; and a large extended family.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2nd at Morehead Cemetery with Pastor Steve Summers officiating.
