Kenneth Victor Hosp, Sr. age 83, Joplin, passed away at 2:11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at his home after an illness.
Kenneth was born May 27, 1933 in Joplin to the late Ivan Hosp, Sr. and Goldie Hosp and had lived in Joplin all of his life.
He worked for the City of Joplin as a fireman, retiring as Captain in 1978. He also worked as a warehouse manager at Sears for 35 years. In his spare time, Kenny enjoyed woodworking and spending time with family. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War and longtime member of Empire Baptist church.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, Leilani; a daughter, Kathy Jensen, a sister, Joann Trigg, and a brother, Ivan Hosp, Jr..
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth V. Hosp, Jr and his wife, Angela, Marion, Ohio, Daniel Hosp and girlfriend, Chris Fraughton, Joplin; daughter, Margaret Cusick-Hill and husband, Lonny, Duenweg; siblings, Peggy Greninger, Joplin, Betty Fraley and husband, David, Springfield; son-in-law, John Jensen, Joplin; grandchildren, Christa Smith, Jessie Eley, Lindsey Vaughn, Craig Cusick, Sherry Cusick, Marissa Hosp, Kenny Hosp, Cassalyn Hosp; and eleven great grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Smith, Sr., David Smith, Jr., Gary Orton, Mike Mounce, Mark Vaughn and John Jensen. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
