Rick Sprague

Rick Sprague, born Aug, 25th 1947 in Anderson Missouri to Hattie Dohle Sprague and Ira James (Jiggs) Sprague.

He married Darlene Townsend September 19th 1965 and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966. He proudly served in the Vietnam War for 3 years until his honorable discharge in 1969.

Rick and Darlene had two children Judy and Ricky, six grandchildren Talon Riley and fiancé Lindsey Haynes, Shelby Riley, Ashley Swarens, Zack Sprague, Dalton Sprague and one great grandchild Maverick Sprague.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hattie and Ira, his brother Jerry Sprague, and his daughter Judy. Rick is survived by his wife Darlene, son Ricky, brother Robert (Bob) Sprague and sister Peggy Elam and Linda Harris multiple nieces and nephews.

Rick lived every moment to the fullest even until the last. Whether it be tending to the gardens, carpentry projects, or riding his grandkids around on the tractor and playing cards or dominos with friends and family. He was able to do the things he loved and he loved every moment of it.

Most of all he loved his family and spending time with his family. His family meant everything to him. He was and always will be very proud of them. He was an amazing role model to his kids and grandkids. The values and character he passed to them will be passed down for generations to come. Even though he is gone our memories of him will live with us forever.

A memorial visitation is planned for Thursday, November 10 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
