William Thomas "Tom" Seay, age 63, Joplin, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at National Health Care in Joplin after a lengthy illness.
Tom was born January 16, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas, son of the late Leroy Edgar Seay and Ruth Elaine Proctor Seay. He moved around as a child following his father's military career, and attended Seneca High School. He served in the United States Army as a Sniper and was stationed in Germany. He worked several jobs over the years, including working for F.A.G., and Eagle Picher, before pursuing his dreams of being his own boss and started an asphalt and construction company in Joplin. He was very proud of his Native American Heritage, and participated in many of their native traditions. He was also an ordained minister and performed wedding ceremonies
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by three children; Melissa Seay, William Seay, Jr., and Austin Seay.
Survivors include his children, Anna Wallace and husband Michael, Stephanie Anderson all of Joplin, Brandon Barker of Oronogo; grandchildren, Misty Wallace, Dakota Wallace, Cheyenne Wallace, Branden Wallace, William Seay III, Tristan Seay, Isaiah Wallace, Jayden Wallace, Preston Anderson, Elissa Anderson, Ashton Anderson, Makayla Hottselle, and Dominic Anderson; seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Ajaye Powell, Christine Nelson and husband Konrad, Candy Sanchez, Lisa Alderman and husband David, Celeste Brooks, and Bonnie Fleenor and husband John; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Private interment of his ashes will be at a later date in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
