Dan Anderson

Dan Anderson, 68, of Parsons, died at 1:11 P.M., Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the Freeman West Hospital at Joplin.

He was born April 4, 1953 at Oswego, a son of Leo Joel and Wilma Fern (Brennick) Anderson. He was raised at Parsons and attended school at Altamont. 

On September 9, 1971 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until being discharged on March 8, 1974. He then returned to Parsons and opened Anderson Auto Body. He operated the shop forty-five years.

On May 19, 1974 he was united in marriage to Marge Perez at Miami, OK. She survives of the home.

He was a member of the James River Church at Joplin. He enjoyed working and repairing cars. He also enjoyed smoking meats.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son and daughter in-law – John and Charity Anderson, Parsons, KS; one daughter and son in-law – Shannon and John Martinez, Topeka, KS; eight grandchildren – Grayson Anderson, Parsons, KS Antonia Anderson, Parsons, KS, Joshua Robertson, and his wife, Melissa, Parsons, KS, Nick Robertson, and his wife, Shawntania, Parsons, KS, Kyrstie Robertson, Parsons, KS, Brynn Martinez, Tampa Bay, FL, Darcie Martinez, Parsons, KS, Johnna Reed, and her husband, Tyler, Parsons, KS; twenty-one great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother – John David Anderson and one infant son – Patrick Michael Anderson, who died June 30, 1976.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday May 15, 2021 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Dozier officiating. Military Honors will be given by the Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00, until 8:00, Friday evening at the funeral home.
