Thelma Creed

Mrs. Thelma Jean Creed, 85, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday morning, August 3, 2021, at Sarcoxie Nursing Center in Sarcoxie, Missouri.

Thelma entered this life on February 26, 1936, in Halltown, Missouri, daughter of the late James Benjamin and Viva Tennessee (Dyer) Knott. She resided in Halltown until moving to Sarcoxie in 1957. 


On December 24, 1962, she was united in marriage to Charles Creed and together they have shared the last fifty-eight years. 








She was employed by Juvenile Shoe for seventeen years and Justin Boot for an additional ten years, both located in Sarcoxie. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and was a talented quilter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mitchell Wayne Creed; a brother, James Knott; and two sisters, Charlotta Sanders and Kathrine Creed.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Charles Creed of the home; a son, Mike Creed of Sarcoxie; two granddaughters, Bridget Tackett of Nixa and Heather Norman of Sarcoxie; two great grandchildren, Kenzie Endicott and Coalsen Norman; two sisters, Janice Schmidly and Maxine Knott both of Mt. Vernon; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2021 at Zion Cemetery near Mt. Vernon with Pastor James Yost officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Russell Creed, Ryan Grieb, Allan Strong and Ben Strong. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
