(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Gregory “Greg” Thompson, 72, of Joplin, Missouri passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Greg was born on February 22, 1952, in Joplin, Missouri where he was a life-long resident. He worked as a mover for a moving company and did janitorial work.
He was a member of the Central Christian Center in Joplin, Missouri.
He loved to collect baseball cards, was a coin collector and enjoyed watching church on TV.
He married Jo Nell Reeves on February 21, 1998, in Joplin, Missouri and she survives.
He is also survived by two sons; Adam Orender of Girard, Kansas and Roscoe Johnson, a daughter-in-law; Tammy Orender of Pittsburg, Kansas, one sister; Janice Loraine Pyle of Wichita, Kansas, three granddaughters, Nephews; Jeffrey and Aaron Pyle and Niece; Joy Felix.
He was preceded in death by, his parents; George Wesley Thompson and Rose Wanda Bowles Thompson, and one brother; Dean Thompson.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at Mason-Woodard Chapel with Pastor Doug Wilkerson.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Central Christian Center Church.
Interment will be at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri.
