(From Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home)Vera Lee Turner, 94, passed away on December 26, 2024 in Joplin, Missouri after a short illness.
Vera Lee Turner was born March 7, 1930 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma to the late Luther and Grace Smith. She attended school in Wyandotte, Oklahoma and Stoney Point elementary schools, graduating from Seneca High School in 1948.
After graduation, she was employed at Milnot Company in Seneca, Missouri. She met and married Fred Turner in 1950, who was the love of her life. They were married for 63 years. After raising their two daughters, she was employed by the Seneca News-Dispatch for 18 years. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling all 50 states.
Vera was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Seneca, Missouri. After relocating, she was a member of the Carl Junction, Missouri Southern Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Cole of Joplin, Missouri and Mary Adams of Webb City, Missouri; 2 grandsons, Jason Cole and Amy, Branson and Christopher Adams and Kathleen, Sumter South Carolina. Great-grandchildren Nate, Heath and Hailey Cole and Ryan Millett. One brother, Bill Smith and Edna of Grandview, Missouri.
Vera is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Turner; her parents, Luther and Grace Smith; sisters, Ruth Mailes and Patty Jacobs; brother, Bob Smith; and son-in-law Larry Cole.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12th at 2 p.m. at Campbell Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca Missouri. Services will follow at 2:30 p.m.
