Che Butterfield

Che Butterfield, age 48, Lenexa, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in Kansas City.

Che was born December 22, 1972 in Telluride, Colorado, and moved to Joplin, Missouri at an early age. He grew up in Joplin and graduated from College Heights High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Missouri Southern State University. 









He worked for Flagler Productions for two years, and then for a number of years with the University of Kansas as the technical director of film and media studies before his most recent employment with Price Brothers as an inspector. He was a member of the Church of Kansas City. Che was a talented photographer, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and spending time with his many friends in Kansas City, and those still in Joplin. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry G. “Toby” Butterfield, III. Survivors include his mother, Dee “Morgan” Butterfield of Kansas City, and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at College Heights Christian Church Chapel with Pastor Jay St. Clair officiating, and friends sharing.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
