Tom Walkinshaw

Tom Lew Walkinshaw III, age 68 of Joplin, Missouri passed away on October 23, 2021, peacefully at his home.
Tom was born on August 8, 1953 in Kansas City, KS to Tom and Helen (Hitt) Walkinshaw II.

Tom married the love of his life, Lola D. McKeehan on March 12, 1973. They built a wonderful life they loved and were proud of.

In Tom’s spare time, you could often find him enjoying time with his family. He will be remembered for his kind soul and his willingness to help others. He loved to golf, work on handyman projects, and spend time with his dogs. He also enjoyed playing drums at Christ’s Community Church, where he was a member of. In his earlier years, Tom was a member of the Elks Club, and the American Federation of Musicians. He was also a drummer of numerous bands over the years.








Tom will be greatly missed by his wife, Lola Walkinshaw of Joplin; sons, Tommy Walkinshaw IV, and wife, Sydney of Joplin; Justin Walkinshaw and wife, Jennifer of Joplin; sisters, Janie Tanner of Lawrence, KS; Cindy Rush of Webb City; grandchildren, Rylie Hunt; Tevis Walkinshaw; Aiden Walkinshaw; Kennedy Thomas; Carson Walkinshaw; Emerson Walkinshaw; great-grandchildren, Grayson Hunt and Arizona Hunt.

Tom was preceded in death by both parents, and his sisters, Kathy O’Malley and Becky Knight.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, October 28th, at Christ’s Community Church at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends during the visitation from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27th at the Mason-Woodard Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Wheelchair Ramp Ministry at Christ’s Community Church.
