Laura Crazybear

(From Ulmer Funeral Home)

Laura Lynn Crazybear was 57 years old, had blond hair and green eyes, and was a loving and compassionate soul. A woman of deep faith, Laura went to heaven to walk hand-in-hand with Jesus on Saturday, October 23, 2021. She had been under care at the University of Kansas Medical Center, receiving aid in her battle with cancer.

Laura was married 32 years to her devoted husband, Victor Crazybear. She was a loving wife, amazing mother, devoted sister, thoughtful daughter, and affectionate friend.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 8, 1964, to parents, Bonnie and Herschel Robinson, Laura was a calm and beautiful baby. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1987 with an adventurous spirit.

With teaching as a first love, her work as a paraprofessional in the Jasper R-5 School district provided daily opportunity for others to experience her warm-heartedness. She loved teaching and worked with children ranging from preschool all the way to their final days as students at Jasper High School. After teaching, she worked at Dryfork Diesel as a meticulous bookkeeper alongside family friends, the Adams.

Laura loved spending time with family and friends. She was always planning her next vacation or girl’s trip. Adoring time in the pool, watching birds enjoy the family feeder, and sunny afternoons on the porch accompanied by a lemon drop martini, Laura valued time around the people she loved more than anything.

Laura leaves her husband, Vic Crazybear, son Jacob and his wife Natalee, son Nathan and daughter Rachel, mother Bonnie Robinson, sister Amy McNeall and husband Rod, brother Mike Robinson and wife Tammy, brother Steve Robinson and wife Gwen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 6:30pm on Tuesday, October 26th at Forest Park Baptist Church (725 S. Highway Ave. Joplin, Mo, 64801). A Celebration of Life will follow at 7:30pm.
