Marie (Waggoner) Lee, 84, passed away Monday, September 2, 2024, at Sarcoxie Nursing Center peacefully with her family by her side. Marie was born Tuesday, January 23, 1940, in rural Avilla, daughter of Everett and Velva (Manley) Waggoner.
She married Kenneth Dale Lee February 5, 1958, in Carthage, MO. They shared nearly forty-eight years together, before his passing in 2006. She lived on a small farm where she raised nine children and was an avid homemaker who loved gardening and anything that involved being outside. She always had a great joy having chickens in the backyard to watch and tend to. Throughout her life she always enjoyed having her grandchildren over to spoil them. Marie was a member Blake Baptist Church in rural Sarcoxie.
She is preceded in death by both parents; husband Kenneth Lee; sons, Randy Lee and Ronnie Lee; daughter, Karla Baublitz; grandson, Taven Williams; sisters, Nadine Ray, Arlene Smith and brothers, Jr. Waggoner and Bill Waggoner.
Survivors include four sons and two daughters, Roger (Teresa) Lee, Maple Grove, MO; Karen (Mike) Curtis, Butler, MO, Scott (Brandy) Lee, Avilla, MO, Brent (Angela) Lee, Sarcoxie, MO, Twyla Lee, Carthage, MO, and Russell (Katie) Lee, Reeds, MO. Survivors also include one sister, RuthAnn (Otis) Cooper, Arcola, MO as well as twenty-eight grandchildren; fifty-seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Mayfield officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Michael Lee, Jonathon Curtis, Jed Baublitz, Rusty Lee, Justin Lee and McCrae Lee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stetson Baublitz, Josh Lee, Rowdy Flynn and Jake Lee. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
