Amanda Carter

(From Parker Mortuary)

Amanda Carter, a cherished soul known for her warmth and laughter, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, in Joplin. Born on November 25, 1973, in Denver, Colorado, to the late William and Lilly (Montgomery) Carter, Amanda was the beloved youngest child, blessed with the companionship of three older brothers.

Amanda's love for her family was her guiding force. She adored her grandchildren, and they were the light of her life. She loved camping and cherished her trips to the lake, where she could be found basking in the serenity of nature and spending time with her family.

Her sense of adventure was matched by her love for true crime television. Amanda also had a creative side, often found doodling in quiet moments and was an amazing writer and poet. Amanda will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her uncanny ability to find the lighter side of life and to make others laugh.

Survivors include her daughters, Ashley Thompson, of Tulsa, and Kiley Thompson, and her fiancé, Dustin Brown, of Joplin; bonus daughter, Cassie Hund, and her husband, Bryce, of Joplin; grandchildren, Keelan Rondelli, and Channing Swain, both of Tulsa; her older brothers, Tim Carter, and his wife, Eva Jane, of Vinita, Daniel Carter, of Anderson, and Chris Carter, and his wife, Eva Jean, of Goodman; and several nieces, nephews, and loved friends.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
