Beth Grimes

(From Parker Mortuary)

Beth Grimes, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away on September 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 9, 1976, in Joplin, Missouri, to John Lester Southard and Debbie (Johnson) Southard. Amy's kind spirit and generous heart touched everyone she met. She departed this world in St. Louis, Missouri, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.

Her life was a testament to the power of giving, a trait she exhibited from her earliest days. She grew up in a home filled with love and laughter, which shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. Amy's education began at Webb City High School, where she graduated in the class of 1995. She furthered her studies at Ozark Bible College and Missouri Southern State University. Professionally, Amy dedicated many years to clerical work at Southard Construction.

Amy's passions were as diverse as they were profound. She loved to sing, and everyone loved to listen to her beautiful voice. She was an active member of her church, The ARC. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and her unwavering kindness. Amy's love for her four cats and two dogs were well-known, as she cared for them with the same tenderness she showed to all living creatures. From a young age, Amy was known as a giver. She would come home from school without shoes and a jacket in the winter because she had given them to other children in need. This selfless nature continued throughout her life, as she consistently reached out to help others.

Above all, Amy was family oriented. She was a devoted mother to her children. Her love for her family was boundless, and she poured her life into her children. Amy's joy multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren.

Amy is survived by her parents, Lester and Debbie Southard; children, Brandon Grimes (Brandy), Desiree Grimes, and Johnathan Grimes; grandchildren, Liam, Sterling, and Xavier; brother, Eli Southard; boyfriend, Joe Loveall; and several cousins and extended family members.

Amy’s story is one of a life well-lived, of a woman who gave freely and loved deeply. Her memory will be cherished and her lessons of love and giving will be passed down through generations.
