Harold Wayne Arnold, age 80, Carl Junction, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Mercy of Joplin.
Harold was born November 18, 1936 in Galena, Kansas, son of the late Pascoe and Ada Gust Arnold. Harold graduated from Carl Junction High School where he was a standout baseball player. He went to Tulsa University studying to get his degree in accounting. He played baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates organizations. He worked several jobs throughout his career, including working for Alford D. Goldman where he was the youngest manager of a Humpty Dumpty Grocery Store in Tulsa, and later worked as a truck driver. He returned to Carl Junction in the 1970's, and enjoyed playing cards, traveling with Carolyn, and was always a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a brother, Don Arnold, and sisters, Barbara English and Edna Lawver.
Survivors include Carolyn Arnold of the home; daughter, Kimberly Arnold of Little Rock, Arkansas; son, Wayne Arnold of Collinsville, Oklahoma; brother, Bill Nivens and wife Renate of Mount Vernon, Missouri; sister, Sandy Arnold of Carl Junction; grandchildren, Nicholas LaBeau, Brice Hudson, Bobby Hudson, Jeremy Arnold, Josh Arnold. Lexi Arnold, Vanessa Huff, and Brittney Kropp; several great-grandchildren; step-children, Randy Long and Sonya Huff; nieces and nephews, Cindy Nivens, Cathy Nivens, Connie Nivens, Billy Nivens, Cheryl Lynn Lawver, Kenny Arnold, Chris Arnold, Bradley Arnold, Amanda Robbins.
Memorial services will be Friday, May 26, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Bob Simon officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Carl Junction Alumni Association.
