Mr. Franklin Ray Wilson, 74, of Lanagan, Missouri, was born on September 4, 1942, in Alpena Pass, Arkansas to the late Arthur and Hilda (Cockrell) Wilson. He passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at his home after years of declining health.
Franklin lived in Colcord, Sand Springs and Jay, Oklahoma, before moving to Missouri, in 1965. He graduated from Jay High School in 1963. On September 21, 1965, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Betty Weeley of Jay. He followed the Baptist faith throughout his life. For many years he worked at Hudson Foods in Noel, Missouri. He loved fishing, playing board games with his grandchildren and being at all family functions.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first daughter, Maggie Kathleen Wilson; and two sisters, Joyce Phillips and Eva Amos.
Franklin is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Betty Wilson of the home; two daughters, Lori Wilson of Vinita, Oklahoma and Joanna Garza and husband, Carlos, of Anderson, Missouri; a son, Timothy Wilson of Decatur, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four sisters, Lillian Glenn of Jay, Oklahoma, Betty Woods and husband, Clarence, of Colcord, Oklahoma, Vi Rogers of Eucha, Oklahoma and Arta Faye Cagle of Jay, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Wilson are 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Earl Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest City Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Carlos Garza, Arthur Garza, Steve Mucci, Joe Manion, Bob Weeley and Frank Mullin. Frank David Israel Garza and Anthony Mucci will be serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
