Vada Kinnamon Swift, 90, Neosho, passed away Sept. 4, 2017 at a Neosho health care facility after a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 10, 1927 in Bloomfield, Iowa to Charles and Jennie (Graham) Kinnamon. After moving to Neosho from Iowa in 1950, she was employed as an administrative assistant at Rockedyne/Teledyne in Neosho. Upon her retirement there, she became the assistant to the President of Crowder College, where she again retired after many years. She was a former member of JO PEO, serving as secretary. Vada was a member of the First Christian Church of Neosho.
Vada married Robert O. Swift on Jan. 14, 1944 in Kirksville, MO. Robert preceded her in death on April 30, 2013. She is survived by two sons, Rick Swift of Neosho and Randy Swift and wife, JoAnn of Neosho, four grandchildren, Collin Swift and wife Stephanie of Neosho, Joshua Swift and Stephanie Parker of Joplin, Elle Swift of Joplin, Tyler Swift of Springfield, MO, and six great grandchildren, Drake and Desirae Swift, Ethan, Ben, Elizabeth, and Evan Bentz.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 at First Christian Church, 1314 Oak Ridge Drive, Neosho, MO, with Pastor Al Gritten officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Neosho.
