Charles Chrisman

Charles Richard Chrisman, Sr., age 73, of Seneca, Missouri, passed away on June 11, 2026, after an extended illness. He was born on December 20, 1952, in Webb City, Missouri, and lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a generous spirit that touched many who knew him.

Charles was the son of the late Ralph and Thelma (Barton) Chrisman. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Georgeann Stockton, Cathy Miller, Donna West, Gale Lynn Baker, Lisa George, and Vicki Benson, as well as his stepdaughter, Mary Thornburg. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life, and he carried his family’s legacy with quiet strength and pride.

He is survived by his wife, Martha (Sanchez) Chrisman of Seneca; his son, Charles “Bud” Chrisman, Jr. and wife Michelle of Joplin; daughters, Stacie Taylor and husband James of Joplin, Missouri, and Ashley Dean of Big Springs, Texas; and his stepchildren, Rodney, Renee, and Amy Thornburg. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Sasha, Dakota, Justin, John, Landon, Gage, Jazlyn, Sammy, Payton, and Juniper, along with numerous great-grandchildren and many extended family members who will cherish his memory.

Charles spent more than 40 years working as a truck driver, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dependable nature. He drove for Interstate Distribution and several other companies over the years, earning the respect of coworkers and those who relied on him. In addition to his life on the road, he did mechanic work on the side, using his hands and practical knowledge to help others whenever he could. He was known as someone who could fix just about anything, and he took pride in being useful, capable, and steady.

Outside of work, Charles enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him happiness. He loved fishing, spending time tinkering with all kinds of things, and going to the casino. These interests reflected his easygoing personality and his appreciation for both quiet moments and a little excitement. He was a man who found joy in everyday life and who made the most of the time he had with those around him.

There are no services planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
