Ella McCoy

(From Ulmer Funeral Home)

Ella Lorraine McCoy, 67, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026. At home, surrounded by her family. Ella was born May 22, 1959, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Paul Homer and Margaret Louise (Bishop) McCoy. She graduated from Carthage High School with the Class of 1977. Ella then attended Draughon Business College, where she earned a degree in accounting.

Out of all of her jobs, she loved being a driver for OATS (Older Adult Transport Services) the most. Ella was an active member at the Carthage Post 2590 VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars). She helped to coordinate many outreach events and programs with the local schools. Another local organization she put her heart into was the Freedom of Road Riders Local 11. She took her talent of organizing and helped with many of their events to involve the public with their causes and build up their community.

Ella adored her kids regardless if they’re by blood or by love. She created beautiful cakes for her family and friends. She made a difference in the lives of so many. She had a gift to make everyone feel included.
Ella is survived by her children Jeremiah Danner (Crystal) of Oronogo, Missouri, Samantha Ross (Douglas), Kevin Kneff both of Carthage Missouri. Ten grandchildren Kaitlyn (Korbin), Sara, Lauren of Joplin, Missouri. Suzanna, Emily, and Layla of Carthage, Missouri. Carmen (Mason), Caden, Wyatt, Izzak.
