Bob McCurry

Bob (Robert) McCurry, a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and artist passed away on December 9th, 2023. Born in Joplin, Missouri on February 25th, 1948. He served in the Navy and graduated from Missouri Southern State University.

Bob grew up with a love of art and nature. In the woods of Missouri, Arkansas and eventually across the globe is where he found his peace as a hunter and lover of all things outdoors. This love for animals also extends to his own pets, which he adored and is remembered by with his beautiful Akita Ti-Ha.

With his profession as a graphic designer at Walmart, and eventually Team 1 Supplier Services Bob was able to further his creativity through designing captivating logos and accomplishing visual masterpieces both as a hobby and livelihood. His work can be admired throughout the world and especially throughout his homes both in Bentonville, Arkansas and New Orleans, Louisiana.

Bob was also a businessman and with his entrepreneurial spirit he became the cofounder of Macadoodles which was named from a combination of his name, and his love of doodling.

Despite his love for his work and artistry he truly was a family man and he dedicated countless hours to his role as a husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his sister, Sharon Amer (Jerry), sons Travis McCurry and Chad McCurry as well as his stepdaughter Tara Iuso (Billy) and stepson Todd Phillips. He is also remembered through his cherished grandchildren Brayden Turner (Melinda), Aria Iuso, and “Lil” Billy Iuso who explicitly call him “Popeye.”

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cindy McCurry, his parents Lewis and Annie McCurry, and his stepson, Dustin Phillips.

Despite living in multiple states, Bob always made it a priority to maintain strong connections with his family, creating lasting memories and always making someone laugh with his “Bobisms." A lover of books, “As Seen on TV” items, and his family Bob will be greatly missed. His big personality, alongside his many jokes inspire us all to live life to the fullest, just as he did.
