Chris Derossett

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Christopher Allen Derossett, known affectionately as Chris to his friends and family, passed away at the age of 40 on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Ozark Community Hospital in Gravette, Arkansas.

Born on September 27, 1983, in Louisville, Kentucky, Chris's early years were spent in the warm embrace of his hometown before moving to South Bend, Indiana, where he was raised and attended school.

Chris was a man of many talents and served his country with pride as a veteran of the United States Army. After his service, he became known as an all-around handyman, a profession that not only showcased his skillful hands but also his friendly and approachable nature. In 2017, Chris moved to Anderson, Missouri, where he continued his skills as a handyman.

He was a lover of the great outdoors, with fishing, camping, and kayaking among his favorite activities. Chris's passion for nature was only matched by his love for music. He had a good singing voice, which he often shared with others through joyful renditions of karaoke, much to the delight of his audience.

Sadly, Chris was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Derossett, and his two brothers, Westley Derossett and Richard Reeser. His legacy, however, lives on through his beloved family.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Derossett, with whom he married on February 4, 2020; two daughters, Catherine and Summer Derossett; two stepdaughters, Lauren and Lily Harris; and two stepsons, Shelden and Landen Harris. Chris also leaves behind his mother, Janet Winterrowd, and her husband, Dave; three brothers, Jerral Deford, Preston Derossett, and Johnathon Winterrowd, along with his sisters, Shannon Glaze-Skyles, Shaina Winterrowd, and Teka Winterrowd; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Chris's sudden departure from this world was the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident, a tragic and unexpected end to a life filled with joy, service, and love. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his life.

Services are pending at this time.
