Mary Welton

(From Ozark Memorial Park Crematory)

Mary Ann Pauletta Welton, known as Jobe to those closest to her, was born on October 26, 1939, and passed away on March 2, 2024. She was right where she wanted to be in the peace and comfort of her home, surrounded by her closest family.

Jobe grew up in Carthage and later traveled the United States, making many friends and memories along the way. Jobe spent two years in the Women’s Army Corps where she continued her education and received her Associate’s Degree in Computer Science. She also attended a writer’s college in California where she wrote many short stories and even a few songs.

As well as many other adventures she took, she loved telling us of her life stories when growing up. She always talked about her days in the army, her time in California, the time she spent with her grandma, memories of fishing with her father, and how much she loved her mother.

Jobe moved back to Missouri where she shared a life with Vicky McComas and helped raise three kids: Mike Lee, Kacey Gilmore, and Punky (Patricia) Lungstrum. These kids were her pride and joy. She also enjoyed watching Skeeter (Will) Snow as well. Her greatest excitement came from all of the great grandchildren that followed (all 10 of them)! She truly enjoyed being around her family, whether it was a houseful during the holidays or time spent out at the lake fishing.

Jobe was a small spitfire to say the least, but she will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, mother (Pearl Welton), father (Paul Welton), stepfather (Helton), brother (Paul), and beloved Vicky McComas. She is survived by Mike (Emily & boys), Kacey (Tony & girls), Punky (C.J. & kids), Skeeter (Kira & kids), and her sisters, Patty and Sandra.

You were one of a kind and will forever be grateful for time shared and loved.
