(From Midland Cremation Society)Barbara Talley, 73, passed from this life on January 4, 2025 from a short illness at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, David of the home; three daughters, Shannon Becknell (Adam) of Willard, Missouri, Tammie Scott of Talihina, Oklahoma, Angela Pierson (Gerry) of Pittsburg, Kansas and a son, Brian Talley (Amy) of Webb City, Missouri; eleven precious grandchildren and one great granddaughter; a brother David Lee Teague (Dot) of Holly Springs, Mississippi; and her mother, Mable Teague of the home.
Barbara was born on October 17, 1951 in Prairie City, Oregon to her parents Homer and Mable Wasson Teague. She grew up in Grove, Oklahoma where she was employed in the Respiratory Therapy Department of the Grove General Hospital. She later moved to the police department where she was a dispatcher. Barbara married David (Dave) Talley on August 29, 1986 and together they resided in Carthage, Missouri. She retired from Schreiber Foods in 2014.
Barbara, who was affectionately known as “Barb” was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord, her family and was a loyal friend to many. She was especially fond of children and treated every child as her own.
Barb enjoyed cooking and baking, crocheting, sewing, reading and spending time with her family. She made many lifelong friends through trail riding adventures, church and co-workers. Barb documented every visitation and occasion with photos.
Barb was preceded in death by her father, Homer Teague and a brother, Jim Teague.
Barb’s family will receive friends at the Neosho Christian Church on Palm Road in Neosho, Missouri from 1:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
