Susan J. Cook, 57, Granby, died November 2, 2016 at her home in Granby, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Susan was born September 13, 1959 in Neosho, the daughter of Ray and Nancy (Richardson) Hines. She was a lifelong area resident and graduated from East Newton High School in 1977 and worked at New Mac for sixteen years. She loved her family and was always there for them and always made her children feel special. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved her dogs and was a very special friend to many. She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and had taught Sunday School for over 40 years.
Susan and Steve Cook were married on April 23, 1977 at Sweetwater Baptist Church and he survives. Additional survivors include two children, Geoff Cook and wife, Bonnie and grandson, Chase of Granby and Sara Melson and husband, Chris of Carthage; two sisters, Lana Schouweiler and husband, Pete of Reno, NV and Marti Ewing and husband, Kevin of Neosho; mother in law, Cleo Cook of Neosho and two sisters in law, Clytia Alumbaugh and husband, Verl of Neosho and Juanita Hagedorn of Ft. Smith, AR. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at 10 am at the Sweetwater Baptist Church, Rev. Tom Casady, Mitch McCumber, David White, Jason Adams and Kevin Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby from 5 to 7 pm.
