Debbie McLaughlin

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Debra Lynn McLaughlin (aka “Debbie”) was born at the Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles, California on July 12, 1952, and passed into the Lord’s arms peacefully in Anderson, Missouri the evening of May 26, 2026, with family at her side.

Debbie worked in retail and banking at Home Savings & Loan in Orange County, CA for 19 years before retiring and joining Larry in their own personal business. She found fulfillment leading the children’s ministry in Community Bible Study, and loved studying and sharing God’s Word. She also sang in the choir for many years at Saddleback Community Church.

She preferred staying busy, even on vacation, and loved all of her “forever” family greatly. Debbie was very hospitable and caring, opening her home to both friends and strangers in need of help and hope. She smiled and laughed often and frequently acted silly. She beat most of us at any card game and joyfully loved everyone around her while showing and sharing the love of Jesus. Debbie was a good friend, wife, and mother, all with a servant-heart. She is dearly missed by those touched by her presence and her frequent “I love you!”.

Debbie is now reunited in heaven with her parents, Kenneth and Martha Gerber, her siblings, Ruth Ann Wilkinson and Donald Gerber. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry McLaughlin, her eldest sister, Sharon Everett, her daughter Rhonda Dixon, her son Tyler McLaughlin and their spouses Mike Dixon and Shannon McLaughlin, as well as her grandchildren, Emily Dixon and Megan Dixon; Gabriel McLaughlin with his spouse Alexis McLaughlin, Nathaniel McLaughlin, and Cali McLaughlin. Additional extended family are in-laws: Shirley Gerber, David and Brenda McLaughlin, Dean McLaughlin, Sandra McLaughlin, Wanda McLaughlin, and many more loved family members that call her “Aunt Debbie”, like Kirstin, Kera, Katey, Kelly, Jason, Shawna Whittingslow, Dawn Abbey, Michelle Taylor, Heather Everett and even more new “great” family members!

“…We love you too, Mom!”
