Lewie Gordon

Llewellyn Edward “Lewie” Gordon, age 71, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Mercy of Joplin.

Lewie was born July 29, 1949 in Joplin, son of the late Clyde Thomas Gordon and Thelma Isabelle (Ketron) Gordon. 

He grew up and graduated from High School in California before returning to Joplin where he attended Missouri Southern for a couple of years. He worked for many years at Lozier as a machinist until his retirement in 1998.






 

Lewie was a member of Central Christian Center of Joplin. He enjoyed spending time painting, reading, and was known for his competitive play with board games and playing cards.

In addition to his parents, Lewie was preceded in death by brothers, Wyatt Gordon, Michael Gordon, and Robin Martin Gordon; a sister, Trudy Tillman.

Survivors include his children, Dustin Gregory Gordon of Dolgeville, New York, Phillip Wayne Robbins-Gordon and Darin Allen Gordon both of Joplin, and Suzanne Renee Gordon of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Darin Gordon, Jr., Anthony McCraw, Chance Gordon, and Zailla Gordon; his wife, Dolly Faye Eden; sisters, Dohanna Self and husband Bill of Springfield, Missouri, Hally Alexander and husband Bill of Neosho, Missouri; brothers, Stacey Gordon and wife Christina of Chicago, Illinois, Steven Gordon of Castle Rock, California, and Scott Gordon and wife Angela of Galena, Kansas; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Doug Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
