David Spry

David Wayne Spry, Sr. was born December 12, 1957 in Carthage, Missouri, the son of Monte and Doris (Klein) Spry. He entered into rest on August 7, 2021 in Joplin, following a short illness at the age of 63. 

David was a lifelong area resident of Carthage and Diamond. He worked at Leggett and Platt for 44 years and retired in April 2021 and currently worked part-time at Westview School. He attended Joplin Heights Baptist Church. 

David and Cheryl (Palmer) Harrell were married on June 28, 2003 and she survives. 

In addition to his wife, David is survived by children, Jamy Spry of Carl Junction, David Wayne (Jessica) Spry, Jr. of Neosho; Becky (Bill) Presley of Neosho, Leslie (Rob) Hall of Carl Junction and Kathy Harrell of Diamond; one sister, Mary Jane (Bill) Talley of Carthage; one brother, Tom (Robyn) Spry of Mt. Zion, Illinois; sister-in-law, Barbara Spry of Jasper; brother-in-law, Kenneth Wheat of Carthage; grandchildren, Noah Spry, Oakley Spry, Jasmine (Josh) Robbins, Justice (Cheyenne) Hall and great grandson, and Uriah Hall. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Elaine Wheat, brother’s, Monte Earl Spry, Jerry Lester Spry and daughter, Wendy Lynn Harrell.

David lived for the beautiful days to spend riding with his wife and friends and enjoyed family camping trips.
