Katie Miller

(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)

Catherine Irene Miller (Katie) was born on June 6th, 1950, to Harold and Ina (Crouse) Norton in Bolivar Missouri, soon after they moved to Dixon Missouri. It was here that Katie spent all her younger years.

Katie was saved in 1965, during a revival held by Brother Leslie Singelton, in Dixon Missouri, and attended camp meetings and revivals accompanied by her pastor, at the time, Sister Bobby Jo Atterberry. Later she was taken under the wings of Brother Joe and Sister Alvera Miller where she met and fell in love with their son, Gary Miller.

Katie & Gary married on November 25, 1967, in the small Holiness church in Dixon, Missouri. To this union three children were born: Gary Matthew, Edward Allen and Anna Michelle. Around 1975 the couple moved to Independence Kansas, so their children might go to Bible School. It was there in Independence that Katie was sanctified during a revival, in 1984, held by Brother Tom Wade. Katie later became a licensed minister and pastored many small churches in Kansas and Missouri, held many revivals, and dedicated many children to the Lord. Katie had a gentle and loving spirit. She touched the lives, spiritually, emotionally, and personally of many different individuals no matter where she went. She was a member of the Wesleyan Holiness Alliance Church in Diamond, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Gary; her sister, Judy (Norton) Wells; her brother, Tom and his wife, Bev; her mother and father in-law, her sister in-laws, Teresa and Jenean Miller; a brother in-law, Marvin Hunter and her sweet daughter-in-law, Sandy Miller.

Left to mourn her passing are her children; son, Gary Matthew Miller of Webb City, Missouri, son, Edward and wife, Gina Miller, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, and daughter Anna Michelle (Miller) Gordon and husband Keith, of Bowling, Green Missouri; sister-in-law Gloria Hunter, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, brothers-in-law, Joe Miller of Sarcoxie, Missouri, and Richard Wells of Sturtevant, Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren, Alana and spouse, Dustin, Grant, Stephanie, Brian and spouse Crystal, Josie, Dalynne and spouse, Micheal, James and spouse Megan, Rosanna, Allen, Kevin and spouse Joanna, Katrina, and Lyric; fifteen great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
