(From Clark Funeral Home)Kathy Allene (Goade) Skaggs, 74, of Granby, Missouri passed away at her home on January 13, 2025, after a long illness. Kathy was born on April 17, 1950, to Allan Eugene Goade Sr. and Sarah “Zetta” Baugh in Granby, Missouri. She attended Granby High School and was a graduate of East Newton High School in 1968.
Kathy married the love of her life, Dale Skaggs, on July 19, 1968, and together they had one daughter, Kari (Skaggs) Dowell. Before retirement, Kathy was the church secretary at First Baptist Church in Granby, Missouri for 30+ years.
In her free time, Kathy was often found sewing at the church sewing and quilting club, making dozens of quilts for the people she loved. Kathy was known as “Grammy” to her grandkids and great-grandson.
Kathy is proceeded in death by her parents, Allan Eugene Goade Sr. and Sarah “Zetta”(Baugh) Goade. Her brothers, Robert “Jerome” Goade Sr. and Harry “Neil” Goade; and one sister, Caroline “Carolyn” (Goade) Beals. She is survived by her husband Dale, one daughter, Kari (Skaggs) Dowell, her husband Brian; grandson Garrett Dowell, his wife April, Great-Grandson Kanan; granddaughter Karissa Dowell; one brother, Allan Eugene “Gene” Goade Jr. and his wife Betty; and one sister, Barbara “LeeAnn” Johnson and her husband Clifford Dingman; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 22 from 9:30AM to 11:00AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, Granby, Missouri, with Pastor Russ Johnson officiating. A private graveside will be at a later date.
Cremation and funeral services are under the direction of Clark’s Funeral Home, Granby, Missouri. The family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Carthage Health and Rehab and Good Shepherd Hospice for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to please make donations to the Kathy Skaggs Memorial at First Baptist Church Granby, MO.
