(From Parker Mortuary)Patricia “Patti” Diane Collins, 77, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on April 19, 2025.
Born on August 16, 1947, Patti was a proud graduate of Joplin High School, Class of 1965. Over the years, she touched many lives through her work as a beautician and later as a dedicated teacher’s aide for the Joplin R-VIII School District. However, her greatest role—and the one she cherished most—was that of homemaker, devoted entirely to raising and caring for her son.
Patti was the heart of her family and will be remembered for her fierce love, warm smile, and nurturing spirit. She adored her family, had a soft spot for cats (especially her beloved Tooie), and never turned down a chance to lend a comforting word or welcome someone into her home.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Donald “Donnie” Collins; her son, Jeramy Collins; and her treasured granddaughter, Gabby Kelso. Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Dick Nicely and Gladys Loraine (Myers) Nicely.
A visitation will be held at Parker Mortuary on Thursday, April 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A graveside service, led by her goddaughter Brandy Riddle, will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Rocky Comfort Cemetery in Rocky Comfort, Missouri.
Patti’s warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be missed deeply but remembered always.
