(From Brown-Winters Funeral Home)Arthur "Art" T. Mahurin, 86, a resident of Miami, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Windridge Care and Rehab. Art was born on October 6, 1939, in Fairland, Oklahoma, to Ray and Audra (Hunter) Mahurin. He went through school at Fairland. He enlisted in the United States Navy; his training in the Navy was to be a Boiler Tech.
Art worked for many years as a service technician for the Sears store in Miami. Mr. Mahurin loved to be outside. He would often be working with his mules. He also had a wagon that the mules would pull. He and his mules pulled a covered wagon to be a part of the Centennial Land Run.
Art was preceded in passing by his parents, Ray and Audra Mahurin, and his siblings, Kenny Mahurin, Betty Snow, and Bob Mahurin.
Those who will carry on Art’s memory are his loving wife Barbara (Henson) Mahurin of the home, his children, Jeff Mahurin and his wife Sherri of Miami, Danny Mahurin and his wife Charlotte of Anderson, Missouri, Kathy “Cassie” Lusker and her husband Chris of Enterprise, Alabama and Wesley Mahurin and his wife Sarah of Miami, his brothers and sisters Anita Wagoner of Fairland, Shirley Wilmoth of Grove, Melvin Mahurin of Wyandotte, and Richard Mahurin of Chouteau, ten grand children and nine great grandchildren also survive Mr. Mahurin.
There will be a time of visitation from 12 noon until 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday after the visitation at the funeral home, with Reverend Kevin Bass officiating. Interment will follow at the Hickory Grove Cemetery. American Legion Post #147 will provide Military Honors.
Casketbearers will be Jeff Mahurin, Danny Mahurin, Wesley Mahurin, Mason Lusker, Josh Mahurin, and Levi Mahurin.
