(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Mary Ellen Frost, 78, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Mercy McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage. Mary Ellen was born on October 29, 1946, in Carthage, to Cyrus Walter Frost and Edna May (Foster) Frost, they preceded her in death.
She began her elementary school years at King School, Jasper County, northwest of Carthage. During her youth she was an active member of the Mount Moriah 4H Club.
As a junior leader 4Her she represented Jasper County for the 4H Citizenship Washington DC Focus during the summer of ’64. She graduated from Jasper High School and then went on to receive many certifications; some were through a correspondence school for art. She worked for Big Smith and McDonalds in town and sold handmade crafts. Mary Ellen was very creative and liked to sew, knit, crochet, paint, draw, and enjoyed gardening.
Mary Ellen is survived by her two loving sisters, Sara Jane Gibbens (Denzel) of Tonganoxie, Kansas, and Linda Kay Heller of Lamar, Missouri.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Zachary C. Heller.
There will be a memorial service for Mary Ellen at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Ulmer Funeral Home. A visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 1:00 PM at Ulmer Funeral Home. The interment will be at Paradise Cemetery in Jasper, Missouri, directly following the service.
