(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Jim Hammond, 73, of Carthage, Missouri passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Joplin.
Jim was born on November 10, 1951, in Carthage, Missouri where he resided most of his life.
He was a Supervisor at Dyno for 39 years and 7 months before retiring.
He was of the Christian faith.
He served in the Navy during the Vietnam war.
He was a life member of Carthage VFW Post #2590 where he was Past Commander, member of the Carthage Train-Crew Shriners, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing.
Survivors include two sons; Chad (Melissa) Hammond of Oronogo, Missouri and Matt Hammond of Kansas City, Missouri, one daughter; Jaime (Matt) Logan of Carl Junction, Missouri, two step-daughters; Stephanie Allen of Pierce City, Missouri and Britney Britton of Joplin, Missouri, one brother; Bobby Hammond of Delray Beach, Florida, and one sister; Frannie Willis of Carthage, Missouri, numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Luther W. and Bonnie Catherine Orr Parker, and one brother; Bill Hammond.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Carthage VFW Post #2590 at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
The family has requested that if you plan on attending the service, please wear Bib Overalls and a ball cap.
