(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Glenna M. Russell, age 77, of Joplin, MO passed away on October 22, 2025 surrounded by family and loved ones.
Glenna was born on June 28, 1948 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Lieutenant Colonel Marvin and June (Lorenzen) Butcher. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lamar. Glenna was a care-giver for many children for over 20 years, as well as a paraprofessional for the Lamar school district for many years prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and giving generously to others. Most of all, she loved being a mother and grandmother. She loved well and was well loved by many.
She married her late husband Clifford Russell on May 29, 1969 in Joplin, MO. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and June Butcher, and one brother, Michael Butcher Sr.
Glenna is survived by three sons; David Russell and wife Andrea of Webb City, Jimmy Russell and wife Janene of Joplin, Jacob Russell and wife Kenna of Lenexa, KS, one daughter; Elaina Watkins and husband Alex of Joplin, one step-daughter; Regina Tebow of Mt. Vernon, MO; one brother, Bruce Butcher; two sisters, Sue Foraker and Christine Thorton; 13 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00am Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel in Joplin, MO. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Jasper, MO. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:00am Saturday.
