Debra Greenfeather

Debra Ruth Greenfeather, beloved mother, devoted nurse, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at the age of 69. She was born on January 11, 1956, in Joplin, Missouri to the late Clifford and Reba (LaRue) Howerton. Debra lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and adventure.

Debra dedicated her life to caring for others, touching countless lives with her kindness and steady grace as she worked as a Registered Nurse. Her career spanned several decades, during which she provided compassionate care at Oak Hill Hospital, Freeman Hospital, and St. John's Hospital, specializing in wound care. Her patients and colleagues alike remember her not only for her skill and professionalism, but for the warmth and laughter she brought into every room.








Beyond her professional life, Debra was known for her love of traveling. She found joy in exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. Her adventurous spirit was matched by her love for shopping. Most of all, she loved her family deeply and unconditionally- her role as a mother was her proudest and most treasured calling.

She is survived by her children; Gregg Johnson (Desiree), Trisha Hestand (D.J.), Cody Greenfeather, Tyler Greenfeather; grandchildren, Logan Johnson (Caitlyn), Kaitlin Ginther, Alexis Albrecht, Brayden Hestand, Madison Greenfeather, Skylar Greenfeather, and Elijah Burkhart; great-grandchildren, Tatum Ginther, Grayson Ginther, Hadley Ginther, Emerie Johnson and Ella Johnson; sister, Joyce McMullen.








Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald “Jim” Howerton and Butch Howerton.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cremation arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
