Gene Fletcher

(From Konantz Warden Funeral Home)

Farrel “Gene” Fletcher left his earthly home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 7, 2026.

Gene, child of Harold Fletcher and Cynthia Lois Mahurin Fletcher, was born in McDonald County, Missouri, on October 19, 1942. He was the fifth of eight children. Gene was raised in the hill country of Jacket, Missouri, and received his education in a one-room schoolhouse known as Measle Prairie School. He married Virginia Ford Fletcher on July 5, 1962. They had three children.

Gene was a farmer throughout his entire life. In the hill country, he raised commercial chickens for George’s Incorporated and ran a dairy, selling milk to DFA. During that time, he was also an employee of the Bentonville Casting Company in Arkansas for 28 years. Gene loved his family and worked hard to provide a good future for them. In 2005, he retired from farming and moved to Lockwood, MO, where he volunteered his time helping with the KBC Dairy.

Gene is preceded in death by many family members, including his parents, Harold Fletcher and Cynthia Lois Mahurin Fletcher; brothers, Nathanel Louis Fletcher (infant), Edward (Faye) Fletcher, Ernest (Ethel May) Fletcher, and Jimmy (Kay) Fletcher; and sisters, Lorene Fletcher Tidwell and Marcella Fletcher.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia; sister Evelyn Fletcher of Pea Ridge, AR; sons Charles (Melissa) Fletcher of Monett, MO, and Kevin (Tammy) Fletcher of Lockwood, MO; and daughter Tina (Brian) Patton of Lockwood, MO. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Tyler (Aubrey) Fletcher, Mikala (Jonatan) Salazar, Ariel (Dennis) Fletcher, Layne Patton, Tanner (Mya) Patton, Samantha Patton (Jeremy Mitchell, fiancĂ©), and Daisy (Matt) Slater; five-almost 6 great-grandchildren, Marley, Gentry, Theo, Adelina, Daniela—due any day, and Holden; and many nieces, nephews, and friends whom he loved as family.

Gene enjoyed listening to GOOD southern gospel singing, coon hunting, and attending church. He had a heart for people and wanted them to know Christ as their Savior. He spent his latter years doing door-to-door ministry and making phone calls inviting folks to Stoney Point Church and was also the Sunday morning door greeter, welcoming everyone who came to service.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, followed by an 11:30 AM service at Stoney Point Church, on Saturday October 10, 2026. Burial will follow at Amos Cemetery.
