Mr. Doyle F. Booker, 80, of Alba, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Galena Nursing Center in Galena, Kansas.
Doyle entered this life on March 30, 1936, in Hulbert, Oklahoma, son of the late Homer and Hazel (Croslin) Booker. On May 2, 1968, in Texas City, Texas, he was united in marriage to Cathline M. “Teenie” Hoggard and together they shared forty-seven years before her passing on June 9, 2015. Doyle worked as a supervisor and driver for Pepsi Cola in Joplin, retiring after almost twenty-nine years of service. After retirement, Doyle worked in construction and maintenance at various places, including Four Seasons Sports Complex. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, gardening and playing dominoes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cathline; a son, Skip Booker; an infant daughter, Tamra Booker; and three brothers, Robert Booker, Jackie Booker and Anthony Booker.
Doyle is survived by two daughters, Colet Pollard and husband, James, of Joplin, Missouri, and Chantel Buchanan and husband, Dean, of Leaky, Texas; one son, Cole Booker, and wife, Deena, of Alba, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Donna Booker, of Rogers, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren, Emily James and husband, Wesley, Cade Higginbotham and fiancé, Sarah Haddock, Kacey Johnson and husband, Roy, Abbigail Pollard, Allen Pollard, Tye Pollard, Ian Buchanan, Gracie Booker, Daisy Booker and Oliver Booker; two great-grandchildren, Ryder Johnson and Ema Lynn Johnson; five sisters, Genine Brown and husband, Arlen, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Bernice Snelson and husband, Bobby, of Beggs, Oklahoma, Linda Orsburn and husband, Henry, of Preston, Oklahoma, Joyce Cash and husband, Ed, of Palacios, Texas and Darlene Ray and Delbert of Preston, Oklahoma; three brothers, Perry Booker and wife, Pat, of Morris, Oklahoma, Dewayne Booker and Paul Booker and Cheri, all of Preston, Oklahoma; four uncles, Squirrel Croslin, Jr., Ward Croslin, Hubert Croslin and Bobby Croslin, all of Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family as well as the staff and residents of Galena Nursing Center.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City with Pastor Kyle Beverlin officiating. Indian Funeral Rites will be performed by Bruce and James Redden of Mid American Indian Fellowships of Joplin. Private family burial will take place at Weaver Cemetery at a later date.
