Marilyn R. Gagle, age 89, Joplin, passed away at 4:50 a.m. Sunday, October 2, 2016 at National Health Care after a long illness.
Marilyn was born July 4, 1927 in Hordville, Nebraska to the late Gilbert Necker and Alice Nickel Necker and had lived in Joplin since 1958.
She was a graduate of Hordville High School and attended Joplin Business College. Marilyn worked as a secretary and was a longtime member of South Joplin Christian Church.
Marilyn married George Gagle, Sr. on December 12, 1944 in Bellville, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2013.
Survivors include a daughter, Kristy Ward, Redding, California; a son, George Gagle, Jr. and his wife, Marea, Joplin; a brother, Loyal Necker, Hordville, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Bonnie Gagle, Arkansas, Kansas; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Graveside services will be held in Lindale Cemetery, Hordville, Nebraska.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
