(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Gerald (Jerry) Ingram, age 85, of Joplin went to be with his Lord April 10, 2022. Jerry was born August 20, 1936 in Souder, MO. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Burtrus (Graham) Ingram.
Jerry moved from Ava, MO. to Kansas City, MO. in 1952, and worked as a salesman for Manor Bread. Later, was a salesman for Pepsi-Cola, then in 1964 he opened Ingram Moving & Storage in Kansas City. Jerry owned and operated his storage and moving company until 1977.
Following the sale of his moving company, he moved his family back to Joplin, MO. Where he worked as a truck driver 10 years for Becker Transport. After retiring from truck driving, Jerry went to work with his son at Action Moving until he retired in 2009. Jerry was an avid sports fan and loved to deer hunt, which was a family activity for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Phyllis Colleen Ingram, his parents; Lawrence and Burtrus Graham, his daughter, Robyn Mittlestadt, his siblings; Kenny Chitwood, David Chitwood, and Sue Lavelock and two grandchildren; Erica Ingram and Jeff Ingram.
He is survived by three sons; Mark Ingram of Branson, MO., Danny Ingram and wife Jamie of Pleasant Hill, MO., and John Ingram and wife Cheryl of Joplin, his brother, Bill Ingram, his sisters; Patsy Morales, Bertie Richwine, Peggy Aquiliar, and Lou Behringer, his grandchildren; Bria Vorhees, Jared Ingram, Tiffany Owens (Jamie), and Brandie Lamoureaux, and his great-grandchildren; Cameron Sneed, J-Lianna Lamoureaux, Cade Owens and Dani Owens.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2022 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Reverend Richard Morris is officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Those gentlemen serving as pallbearers include Danny Ingram, Mark Ingram, John Ingram, Greg Forbes, Tony Mullins, and Mark Ferguson. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to service on Friday.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
