Eddie Williamson

Eddie Williamson, 58, of Oswego, passed away at 3:33 a.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at University of Kansas Medical Center. Eddie Eugene Williamson was born August 1, 1965, in Oswego, KS, to Edward Arthur Williamson & Barbara Elaine Echols. Eddie grew up in Oswego & attended Oswego schools & graduated from OHS in 1983.

On March 7, 1992, he married Karen Louise Johnson. 







Eddie worked for Ruskin Mfg for almost 20 years, the City of Oswego for 12 years & USD 504 for 8 years. Eddie was a bi-vocational pastor & preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ, He was gifted with discerning the Word of God and communicating life application. He was ordained in ministry at First Baptist Church in Mound Valley, KS. He preached there for 5 years, then at First Southern Baptist Church in Oswego for 13 years & most recently at the Backroom Fellowship in Chetopa, KS, for the past 9 years. The Backroom Fellowship was his legacy. Eddie was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Oswego, KS, where he enjoyed helping with the youth duck hunt.

Eddie was good at anything he set his mind to. He loved playing slow pitch softball, music, bow hunting deer & duck hunting with his dad, brothers, nephews & friends. He loved people, especially children, and loved making people laugh & being the life of the party. He truly cared about people & wanted everyone to know Jesus as their Lord & Savior. He enjoyed being Santa Claus & time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Karen, of the home. Three children, Joel Williamson & his fiance, Elizabeth Standridge of Joplin, MO. Mariah Wicker & her husband Benajah of Parsons, KS. Kristen Ontiveros & her husband Dominic of Murray, UT. A granddaughter, Laurel Elise Ontiveros. His mother, Barbara Williamson of Altamont, KS. Two brothers, Tommy Williamson & wife Tonya, and Robert Williamson & wife Debbie, of Oswego, KS. Nephews & Nieces: Tristen Williamson, Dillon Williamson, Lacy Atkins, Demitri Garrett, Deonta Garrett & D’Adrian Garrett.








The Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at the Western Way Cowboy Church in Altamont. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, at the Western Way Cowboy Church. Memorials are suggested to the Backroom Fellowship.
