Notie Pate

Notie Pate, age 67, of Las Cruces NM, passed away on October 17, 2023. He was born on September 25,1956, in Mexico, Mo. 

Notie was raised in Montgomery City Mo. until his freshman year of high school when he moved to Joplin Mo. 








Notie was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Pate; daughter, Jordynn and husband Alex Gutierrez; daughter in law Paige Pate; Brother Nathan and wife Merly Pate; son Mathew Phelan and grandchildren, Braylon Pate, Jayce and Jax Gutierrez, Rio Lerma, Mattellen, Peyton, and Jayden Phelan; as well as a great granddaughter and many cousins' nieces and nephews. 

Notie was preceded in death by his son Brandon Pate, also by his mother Katherine, father Notie Sr. and sister Muriel Pate. 

First and foremost, Notie loved his family. He was a kind, generous, funny, athletic, loving, proud, inspiring, intelligent, brave, talented, and caring individual. He had a passion for basketball, running, hiking, bicycling, and music. 








In his spare time, he enjoyed engaging in these hobbies, which brought him great joy. If anyone has seen his garage, you know that Notie revels in old photos and timeless music. Notie was a loyal friend to many, and his home was a special place for people who love to gather and have a great time together. 

Notie graduated from Memorial High School in Joplin Missouri as an all-American athlete. He then went on to attend New Mexico State University for higher education where he played basketball and ran track. He was an avid supporter of the Aggie basketball program until his final days. 

He was drafted as free agent for the Dallas Cowboys and made it all the way through the final cut. Notie later pursued a successful career at NAI First Valley commercial real estate services where he dedicated his time and expertise from 2001 until his retirement in March 2023. 

Notie Pate will be deeply missed by all who knew him his memory will forever live long in the hearts of his loved ones. May he rest in peace.
