(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Cory Lee Daniel Sliger, 36, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, departed this life, after a courageous battle of brain cancer on Sunday, October 5, 2025, in the comfort of his home with his wife and son by his side.
Cory was born on Saturday, July 1, 1989, in Joplin, Missouri. He moved to Sarcoxie, Missouri in 2002. On May 7, 2011, he married the love of his life DeLisa Leann McGuirk, sharing fourteen years of wonderful memories. To this union two children were born, Aidan Sliger, fourteen and Gwendalyn Sliger, five both of the home.
Cory enjoyed watching his children play sports, Christmas mornings with family, hot dogs and hot chocolate at Mom’s on Halloween and football.
Cory is survived by his wife and children; parents; siblings; many nieces and nephews; and his aunt Carolyn Cupp.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William Sliger, and paternal grandmother, Gloria Sliger; aunt Kathy Faircloth and maternal grandfather, Charles (Danny) Hurst.
Cory was a member of the River of Life Church in Sarcoxie, Missouri.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Those honoring his life by serving as honorary pallbearers are Dallas McGuirk John Woodruff, Derek McGuirk, Austin McGuirk, Jim McGuirk, Peyton McGuirk, Cooper McGuirk and Aidan Sliger.
