(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Darwin J. Norem, of Greenfield, MO, departed this life on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility in Lockwood, MO at the age of 74.
He was born on November 10, 1950 in Buckeye, IA to Edwin and Vera (Kasischke) Norem. Darwin was united in marriage to Janice Killingsworth on October 1, 1994 in Greenfield, MO. He worked as a propane service technician and as a coordinator for the Barton County Electric Co-Op. Darwin was a member of the Arcola Christian Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Darwin enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Edwin and Vera Norem; one daughter, Janelle Norem; two brothers, Dennis Norem and Darcy Norem; one sister, Sonja Woods; and one great-grandchild, Areana Norem.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Norem of the home; three sons, Jason Norem and partner Vicky Poplar Bluff, MO, Andrew Norem and wife Saicy of Miller, MO; and Chaz Norem of Mt. Vernon, MO; one daughter, Melody Finley of Lamar, MO; five brothers, Doug Norem, Duane Norem, Danny Norem, Darrell Norem, and Dwight Norem; one sister, Sue Slater; seven grandchildren, Zachary Daniel, Josiah Norem, Aneeka Norem, Colin Zander, Jessie Zander, Isabella Norem, and Malachi Norem; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey Daniel, Brody Daniel, Tucker Hagebusch, and Cash Daniel; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Cemetery or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
