(From Nelson Funeral Service)Richard Glen Hostetler, beloved husband of Donna Marie (Kropf) Hostetler of Berryville, AR, was born October 16, 1953, to Glen and Rosemary Hostetler at Princeton, IL. He peacefully passed away at his home in Berryville, AR on October 14, 2025, at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 28 days.
Richard was diagnosed with cancer in April of 2020 from which he patiently suffered many complications and hospital stays. He was willing to accept whatever he was asked to go through and ex-pressed himself as “waiting the call.”
He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized in his youth and was a member of the Bethel Amish Mennonite Church to which he remained faithful unto death.
He was always so glad when the children and grandchildren came to visit and had a deep concern for the salvation of their souls.
On September 7, 1975, he was united in marriage to Donna Marie Kropf of Tampico, IL, daughter of Willis and Judy Kropf, sharing the joys and sorrows of married life together for 50 years. To this union was born 5 daughters and 1 son. Jolene and husband Carlin Hostetler of Berryville, AR; Iris and husband Louis Hostetler of Berryville, AR; Terri and husband Martin Hostetler of Granby, MO; Josie of Harrison, AR; Gene and wife Bethany of Harrison, AR; Jodi and husband Rolan Hostetler of Muscoda, WI.
He leaves to mourn his departure his deeply bereaved wife, 6 children, 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, his mother, 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Hostetler; 2 brothers-in-law, Lester Ropp and Joe Petersheim; 3 grandsons, Kaleb, Alex and Layne; and 1 granddaughter Kensie.
The family expresses a sincere thank-you for all the prayers, food, and thoughtful acts of kindness during our long vigil, waiting for our dear father’s call home to his eternal reward.
