Susie Jones

Susan “Susie” Regina Jones, age 63, of Webb City, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at her home.

Susie was born on July 14, 1962 in Springfield, MO to the union of Lawrence and Jeanne (Maye) Pekarek. She was a 1980 graduate of McAuley Catholic High School. She married Richard “Rick” Jones on May 29, 1982 and to this union came three children, Adam, Kaitlyn and Zachary. Her role as a homemaker was one she cherished deeply, pouring her heart and soul into caring for her three children, who were the center of her world. She co-owned Country Rosewoods Crafts with Rick. She loved going to craft shows, creating all sorts of different furniture pieces and drinkware. At one point, together they sold unfinished furniture to local stores in the Joplin area. On February 17, 2014, Rick and Susie decided to go their separate ways.

Susie was extremely family oriented and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies and mint dessert. She enjoyed creating crafts with her granddaughter, Isabella, and making forts in her bedroom. Susie was beyond generous, giving fresh baked goods to her elderly neighbors and donating clothing to those who were in need. She spent countless hours gardening and tending to her flowers, which she passed on to her daughter, Katie. She collected dragonfly artwork and kitchen knickknacks. Above all, Susie loved to make others happy and put a smile on their face. 

Her presence was a blessing to all who knew her, and her absence will be felt deeply by her family and friends. Yet, the legacy of Susie's love will continue to blossom in the lives of those she touched, much like the flowers she so adored.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Jeanne Pekarek.

Susie is survived by her three children, Adam Jones and wife, Lacie, Zachary Jones and wife, Tori, and Kaitlyn Jones; six grandchildren, McKenzie Jones, Aiden Jones, Madison Jones, Maison Jones, Avery Robertson and Isabella Buerge; and five brothers, Joseph Pekarek and wife, Linda, Thomas Pekarek and wife, Janice, Daniel Pekarek and wife, Ann, Timothy Pekarek and Andrew Pekarek and wife, Sarah; and a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
